Mahindra Xylo:

The Mahindra XYLO, better known as Project Ingenio, is set to roll out in the domestic market by year end and if the whisper is anything to go by Mahindra has taken a lot of time in ensuring that this product is superlative. The car has been created after an in depth understanding from patrons on their inputs on what they require from such a segment of vehicle.

The XYLO is set to cover elements that will provide to a lifestyle and luxury vehicle of its class. Set to come fitted with a 2.5 liter CRDe mill, the XYLO has been designed to cater to emerging markets. Mahindra is also planning on offering this MPV with a 4x4 option, which will make Mahindra one of the few manufacturers in the world to offer an MPV fitted with 4WD.

Speaking about the project, Mr. Anand Mahindra, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra Group, said "We are all set to create a new milestone with the launch of the Mahindra XYLO which will continue Mahindra's legacy of customer-centric innovation. I am confident that the XYLO will follow in the footprints of Scorpio and evolve into an iconic brand."

Also commenting on the XYLO, Dr. Pawan Goenka - President Automotive Sector M&M added that the XYLO has been developed by a Project team consisting of 160 experts who have created new benchmarks in terms of styling, technology and performance. The team deployed the ReFinE methodology aimed at creating emotional surplus. Mahindra XYLO, extensively tested and validated for Real World usage in India and many other countries, is sure to delight the Customer's 'Senses'.

Mahindra has not revealed the price as of yet, but judging by the company's history, the XYLO is expected to be priced extremely competitively.

The Scorpio SUV and Logan are already part of a joint retailing effort while  other utility-vehicle from M & M, the Bolero is sold separately. The Logan is part of the Mahindra-Renault joint venture while the Scorpio, like the Xylo, is a complete in-house product of M&M.

At present, there are 120 dealers for the Scorpio and Logan who will now also sell the Xylo. In addition, nearly 30 smaller towns have exclusive Scorpio outlets which could now house the Xylo too.
