Skoda Small Car:

Skoda launched its premium sedan Skoda Superb in India recently. The company intends to strengthen its position in the premium sedan segment and increase its sales volume. The new Superb defines style, luxury and safety and advanced technology from all accords. The car definitely lives up to its name as it is one of the most sophisticated saloons in its segment.

The Czech manufacturer has given its best shot while empowering the Indian model of Skoda Superb. The car is powered by 2.8L 30-valve V6 petrol engine, which pumps out an impressive 193 bhp of power at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 280 Nm @ 3,200 rpm. The diesel variants of the automobile are powered by 2.5 L V6 engine that churns out a power of 163 bhp and a maximum torque of 350 Nm @ 3,000 rpm. The petrol version delivers fuel economy of 11.97 kms / Liter on highway. In city it may reduce to 7.3 Kms / Liter. Both the engines have 5-speed automatic transmission and the car gains a top speed of 235 kmph with its front wheel drive. The front is equipped with independent McPherson Struts and angled coil-springs, which soak up the bumps and make it sturdy for the Indian driving conditions. It performs passive rear wheel steering with its rear-quadra link suspension.

The new Skoda Superb is laden with advanced styling and luxurious comforts. Its style definitely carries a glimpse of Volkswagen Passat with its wide track and narrow roof. The overall look definitely lends it a solid built sedan look. The complete exterior look is well complemented and balanced with chrome framed grille, similar sized air dams and headlamps. The broad stance of the car is further accentuated with its 17 inch alloy wheels filling the arched fenders. The chrome outlining further enhances its body molds and window frames.

The interiors are complete with power steering, power windows, air-conditioning, leather seats, tubeless tyres, anti-lock braking system, central locking, child safety and other standard safety features of a luxury car.

The new Superb features patented Twin Door Concept for variable boot opening which offers a convenient and practical boot opening solution. The strategic placement of tailgate can accommodate more luggage than its contemporaries in its segment. It offers one of the largest boot capacities compared to those offered in other cars in its segment.

The car features Adaptive Front Light System that improves visibility and enables the driver to foresee road obstacles quickly and adapt its driving accordingly. This AFL system is well complimented with Bi-Xenon headlights for better driving capabilities.

The car is available in several aesthetic colours - Black Magic, Rosso Brunello, Cappuccino Beige, Diamond Silver & Candy White. The new Skoda Superb is priced in the range of Rs. 18 lakh to Rs. 19 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi).
